There are different corner lights available for the 1986-1989 Accord. They vary from country and years. Please take a look below. Refer to the description below for more details.
The part closer to the fender is made of a reflective Orange material (to comply with DOT rules) while the part on the front is made of smoked material with squarish dots inside to diffuse the light. It also matches the pattern found on the eyebrow and hood grille.
It has a reflective orange part (to comply with DOT rules) but it's alot smaller in size compared to it's 86-87 sister. The position light part has a different pattern and the same pattern surrounds the side reflector. Once again, the smoked pattern matches the eyebrow and the hood grille.
The only difference is the missing reflector part and light behind it. Because of that, it does not comply to DOT rules and is not available in North America as an OEM part. The corner light has an uniform pattern of smoked squares just like the 86-87 corner lights. Once again, it matches the hood grille and eyebrow.

The JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) 86-87 Accords came with a corner light similar to the 86-87 North American Accords except that it has a raised part where the bulb stands for additionnal visibility. It also complies with DOT rules.
The JDM 88-89 Accords came with a corner light similar to it's North American sister. The position light pattern is lined and smoked. However, it has a raised part just like the 86-87 JDM corner but has no visible Orange part. The Orange part is hidden behind the smoked light and is only visible at night. Altough it has an orange part, it does not comply with DOT rules because of the lack of reflector unit. The raised part, however, gives you a better visibility for oncomming motorists.
